Pohl, a former Illinois Wesleyan University golf team leader, has a proven track record in match-play tournaments, having won the event in 2020, 2023, 2024, and 2025. His recent victory, however, was particularly impressive, as he defeated his brother, Garrett, five up with four holes to go. This triumph further solidifies Pohl's status as a formidable force in the golf world, as he continues to excel in both amateur and professional competitions. The tournament also featured a range of other notable performances, including a hole-in-one by Nick Peiffer, who stuffed his ball directly into the hole on the eighth hole, and the continued success of local golfer Amy Gehrke, who claimed her seventh women's championship trophy.
